When I first started to Quilt, my most challenging and undecided moments were about fabric. The questions would be endless; will this color match that one, what if I get all the blocks sewn together and it looks horrible, do green and purple match, and the list would go on and on. I really got a little confused in this area at first but once you get to know the tricks, it will come as second nature…honest. Fat Quarters, now this is a great way to cheat a little with your fabric coordination. Most fabric or Quilt shops cut their own fat quarters so just take a look at their bundle and see how they have color coordinated with other fabric. Fabric Grain and it’s importance. Last but not least, Prewashing fabric and Quilt Batting.
Remember these are just guidelines to help get you started and don’t ever be afraid to try a color combination.
