Rosa Parks was born on this day in 1914. Read more about her here. Sherry Shine created this art quilt to commemorate Rosa’s contributions to civil rights for African-Americans. She includes President Obama because she explains he too is an icon representing fearlessness. Fearless is the title of the art quilt. Technique: Painted on whole cloth then machine quilted.     This is absolutely beautiful. It is also meaningful for it is upon the shoulders of Rosa Park’s courage that men like President Obama were able to rise to the the country’s highest office. Congratulations. It is a very meaningful, beautiful piece of art
