This 30’s Hawaiian quilt came across my Facebook News Feed today from French72 Antique Quilts. I’m intrigued by a comment left by Anna Harkins who explained,
A Hawaiian friend told me to look for all the stages of flower growth in these motifs. So, the border has the seedlings, the center is about at transplant stage, and the corners are the full plant. Not sure if that’s true or if he was pulling my leg. Any way you look at it, this is beautiful.
Anyone else hear this explanation?

What a beautiful quilt! I love Hawaiian patterns. I didn’t know about the flower stages of growth, but I see it now that you point it out. I would love to have one of these quilts in my home. Thanks for sharing this gorgeous quilt!
