Wisdom and a Jelly Roll throw

March 26, by Scarlett Burroughs. 1 Comment

Deby of So Sew Easy is on a roll. She took her new serger for a spin, and ended up with a bunch of strips sewn together lengthwise. Ever so clever, she decided this would make a fabulous base for a quilt. So she whipped out a square ruler and got to cutting out blocks. From there, she sashed and sewed some more and came out with a quilt top (throw-size) in no time.

She knows you might need a quick quilt to sew up, so gives step-by-step instructions for how to use a precut, store bought, Jelly Roll (precut fabrics) to create your own.

While you are there for the directions, be sure and check out what Deby has to say about her approach to quilting. The gist is we all need to figure out what aspect of quilting we love the most, and the part that leaves us cold. Then focus on the part that brings the most joy to your life. That’s wisdom.

Good Morning Scarlett! Thank you for providing this link. I thought her idea of sewing all strips together and then cutting the blocks out with the square ruler is a great idea and would save time and make great blocks. Thank you for sharing and have a fantastic creative day!
