If you’re anything like me, March is that in-between month where the seasons start shifting and you suddenly feel the urge to start something new. The light changes, the air feels different, and your sewing table starts calling your name again. That’s exactly why I love checking out the March Patterns of the Month over at Fat Quarter Shop — it’s like a curated nudge to finally cut into that fabric you’ve been saving.

Each month they spotlight a selection of quilt patterns at a special price, and March’s lineup is all about fresh starts, lighter palettes, and projects that feel completely doable (even if your to-be-made pile is already towering like mine).

What Makes “Patterns of the Month” Worth a Look?

Let’s be honest — there are thousands of quilt patterns out there. It can be overwhelming. What I appreciate about this monthly feature is that it narrows the focus.

Instead of endlessly scrolling Pinterest, you get:

This is the time of year when I start thinking about baby quilts, Easter table toppers, lap quilts for cooler evenings, and even early gift-making for the year ahead (yes, I’m that person who starts Christmas sewing in autumn).
