The moment I saw this quilt block and quilt tutorial from Diary of a Quilter, I knew it was going on my to-make list. Just like the name implies, these Dresden blocks look like peppermints. There is so much movement in them and, because of the designer’s choice colors, they are almost hypnotic.
The finished quilt measures 41″ x 60′, so it’s a nice lap size. To make the sections for the quilt block, you will need a special ruler, but the designer has all of the details on that. Once each block is assembled, they are machine appliquéd to the background fabric. After that, the whole piece is quilted, bound and ready to use.
It is a detailed tutorial so it helps to read it through. She does provide some tips for making the process a bit quicker. Hint, it’s all about fabric choices for this block.
