Video Tutorial – 3 New Dresden Projects with Jenny Doan of Missouri Star

June 14, by Shellie Wilson. Leave a Comment

Each month, Jenny, Misty, and Natalie each present a unique take on a favourite block, technique, or template. These talented Doan ladies are demonstrating three dresden quilts this week.

Jenny’s dresden quilt is made with twenty-two 2.5″ strips (jelly rolls) and 5″ squares (charms) of precut fabric. Jenny made the fabric Shadow Play 2.5″ Strips by Maywood Studio (a Missouri Star exclusive!) and Bee Backgrounds 5″ Stackers by Lori Holt for Riley Blake.

Other supplies include Fusible Featherweight Interfacing for Pellon, the Missouri Star Mini Dresden Template, and a Missouri Star Bamboo Creaser Tool. Jenny also whipped up and quick and easy pillow using her extra pieces.

Misty’s Fancy Dresden Fans is made with 5″ squares of precut fabric (charms). Misty’s fabric is Gingham Gardens 5″ Stackers by My Mind’s Eye for Riley Blake. Missouri Star Large Dresden Plate Template for 10″ Squares.

1. Mix 1 1/2 tbsp cornstarch with 2 cups of distilled water until all lumps are dissolved.
2.  Fill a glass spray bottle.
