DIY: Eagle quilt block

March 12, by Scarlett Burroughs. 2 Comments

Adele Cosgrove-Bray shares this grid-based pattern of the eagle. Following her sketch, users can choose a block size, fabric scheme and get to sewing. Depending on chosen size one could make something as small as a potholder, pillow cover, or as Adele did, a small quilted wall hanging.

A tribute to a fellow quilter and friend.

For Native Americans, the eagle is an important symbol.

“Eagle brings the essence of expanding your spirit – flying high and free.”

For me, the eagle is also a surname. My friend Kimberly Eagle (1961-2017) flew high in life and is now free from the pain of cancer. She was fearless in so many ways, especially in her approach to quilting. She made many and gifted most to friends and family members. I dedicate this post to her memory.

Hello Scarlett. Once again, I was delightfully pleased with the designer you chose for today. She had some patterns that are fun and fresh with the fabrics she chose to use. I also discovered an English Paper Piecing tutorial that I am going to also try alongside a couple of these patterns. Thank You so much and Have a great day!
