Boy moms get the green light with Angela Yosten’s new book, Stop. Go. Quilt. Sew!. The twelve traffic themed sewing projects are spot on for boys of all ages. Angela, a mom to a boy and a girl, explains in the introduction that the lack of fun things to sew for boys was the inspiration for this book. My favorite projects include the Route 66 t-shirt, Stop Sign wall art (30″ x 30″), “Do not Enter” messenger bag, and Traffic Light quilted wall hanging (42″ x 62″).
The scrap applique method she uses with the projects gives her designs depth. Plus, as she points out, burns up scraps. The book’s instructions are easy to follow, but are not exhaustive. Sewers should have some previous experience.
Editor’s note: I received a review copy of this book free of charge from the publisher, but all opinions are my own.
