Amy Marson at C&T Publishing Blog coached her niece Kelsey through the making of her very first quilt. It was not the easiest of first quilts to make either, we quilters know T-shirt fabric is crawly so must be stabilized before it can be sewn.
Plus, there was no pattern. Aunt Amy winged it and when mistakes happened she enlisted the help of her son Parker to do some ripping out or unsewing as she called it. Of the process new quilter Kelsey expressed how hard it was and how she was disappointed that some of the cornerstones did not line up.
We’ve all been there Kelsey, it’s just part of the quilting process as is ripping out seams. Welcome and congratulations on your first quilt Kelsey, it’s lovely. Visit Amy’s Post: A Lesson in Unsewing to read more.
