8 Ways Quilters Can Help Ukraine

March 4, 2022 by Claudia Porter

The current situation in Ukraine is a tragedy that has affected many people. However, as quilters, we have a unique ability to offer help through our art and creativity. A number of quilters have risen to the occasion by offering new or existing patterns to show their support for those affected by the crisis. These patterns come in a variety of forms and are available for either purchase or for free, depending on the quilter’s preference.

For those who are looking to purchase patterns, some quilters are offering new designs specifically for the crisis in Ukraine. These designs often feature symbols of hope and unity, making them a meaningful way to show your support. Not only will you be helping those affected by the crisis, but you’ll also be adding a unique and meaningful addition to your quilting collection.

For those who prefer to show their support through free patterns, there are a number of quilters who have made their existing designs available for free download. These free patterns can be used to make a quilt or other project to show support for those affected by the crisis. The act of making the quilt is a symbol of hope and love, and the finished product can be donated to those in need.

Whether you choose to purchase a pattern or use a free one, the act of quilting in support of the crisis in Ukraine is a powerful way to show your support and make a difference. Quilting is a unique form of art that has the ability to bring comfort and hope to those who are affected by the tragedy. By participating in this effort, you are helping to make a difference in the lives of those who need it most.

You can make a donation to a reputable charity, support local organizations, or simply spread the word about the situation and how others can help. The important thing is to do something, no matter how small, to show your support and offer help to those in need.

The quilting community has come together to offer help and support to those affected by the crisis in Ukraine. Whether you choose to purchase a pattern, use a free one, or simply spread the word, there are many ways to get involved and make a difference. So why not join in and help show your support today?
