8 Christmas Tree Quilt Block Patterns

November 5, 2022 by Claudia Porter

The holiday season is the perfect time to create handmade quilts for your loved ones or to sell at local markets and fairs. With the festive atmosphere and the joy of giving, creating and gifting a Christmas-themed quilt can be a memorable and special experience.

When it comes to creating Christmas tree quilts, there are many different patterns to choose from, and the beauty of them is that they can be made in a variety of different fabrics, colors and sizes. From traditional green and red color schemes to modern, trendy colors, you can tailor your quilt to your own style and taste.

For those who are just starting out in quilting, it’s a good idea to choose a simple pattern that is easy to follow. This will ensure that you will have a successful experience and feel confident to try more challenging patterns in the future. Once you have a good understanding of the basics, you can start to experiment with different fabrics and color combinations to create your own unique quilts.

When it comes to selling quilts, it’s important to set a fair price that reflects the time, effort, and materials that have gone into creating your quilt. A good starting point is to calculate your hourly rate based on the time you spent working on the quilt and the cost of materials, and then add a reasonable markup. Keep in mind that it’s important to price your quilts in a way that both covers your costs and allows you to make a profit.

Overall, making Christmas tree quilts can be a fun and rewarding experience, whether you’re making them for your own home or to sell at your local church fair. With the right patterns and materials, you can create a beautiful and festive quilt that you and your loved ones will enjoy for years to come.

Years ago, a quilting magazine featured a pieced Christmas tree hanging with a star in the upper right and the branches getting progressively darker as they moved farther away from the star’s light. Any idea where I can find this pattern?
