October 4, by Claudia Porter. Leave a Comment

If you are looking for scrap fabric Christmas ornament designs, then you really don’t have to look much further than these 25 beautiful ideas.  I don’t know about you, but I am always looking for some fabric stash-busting ideas, and combining that with the holidays makes lots of sense.

You will find so many different ways to use fabric scraps for Christmas ornaments. You can make fabric ornaments that are hanging ornaments, ornaments are placed on a tree, fabric ornaments that are placed on a table, ornaments that are placed inside a box, and so much more. You can even make fabric ornaments that have a story behind them, like the fabric ornament that has a quote on it or the fabric ornament that has a memory behind it. There are so many different ways that you can use fabric scraps for Christmas ornaments.

Are you looking for a way to use up the scraps of fabric from your quilting stash? If so, you’re in luck! There are a variety of fun and creative quilting projects that can be made with scraps of fabric. Not only will you enjoy the satisfaction of using up all those fabric scraps, but you’ll also be able to create beautiful quilts and other projects that are as unique as your fabric stash!

For starters, try making a patchwork quilt with your scraps. You can make a traditional quilt or one with a modern twist; there are endless possibilities! You can use solids, prints, or a combination of both. To make it easier, try sorting your scraps into color groups and then arranging them into a pattern. The patchwork quilt can be made in any size and with any type of fabric, so you can create a quilt that is truly unique.

If you want to get a bit more creative with your fabric scraps, try making a t-shirt quilt or a rag quilt. A t-shirt quilt is perfect for preserving memories; all you need are t-shirts with meaningful images or designs, batting, and backing fabric. Sew the t-shirts together and quilt them with your scraps of fabric to give the quilt a unique look. Rag quilts are also a great way to use up fabric scraps; the quilt is made with squares of fabric that are sewn together and then frayed to create a “rag” effect.

Another fun quilting project that uses up fabric scraps is a scrap quilt. This type of quilt is made with randomly assorted scraps of fabric, which makes it a great way to use up small pieces of fabric. All you need to do is arrange the scraps in a pattern, sew them together, and add a backing fabric. The result is a truly unique quilt with a one-of-a-kind look.

Finally, you can use your fabric scraps to make a variety of smaller projects, such as pillows, table runners, placemats, and wall hangings. These are quick and easy projects that are perfect for using up those small scraps of fabric. So don’t let your fabric scraps go to waste; use them to create beautiful quilts and other projects that you can enjoy for years to come!

So take a look at these festive projects and start raiding all those scraps you’ve saved up.  My only problem is that I can’t figure out which one I want to do first!    Looking for Quilting supplies and Fabric? Check out Fat Quarter Shop

So this happened to me a few years ago, It was a quilted tree ornament like this one.

It was a little after Christmas when I got a package in the mail. I opened it up and found an old-fashioned, hand-made quilted Christmas ornament. I couldn’t quite place it–it wasn’t anything that I had seen before. But I was curious, so I took a photo of it and posted it to my Facebook page.

The next day, my phone rang. It was my mom. She was crying on the other end, and she said that she had just opened her mailbox and found the very same ornament inside! We both felt like somebody was sending us messages, and we weren’t sure who to believe.

A few days later, we received another call. This time, it was from my dad. He said that he had been out for a walk when he came across somebody carrying a large bag full of Christmas decorations, and among them was the very same ornament! We were starting to feel like our mystery sender was somebody we knew.

We didn’t know who to tell–we were both so excited about the messages that were being sent to us. But we just couldn’t figure out who it could be. Then, one morning, right before Christmas, we got another call. This time it was from our cat! He meowed at the phone until we finally answered it. He told us that he had been hiding underneath the tree all day, waiting for us to put the ornament on top so he could take a picture! We were so glad that he was able to help us figure out who our mystery sender was–it turned out to be our dear friend from down the street!
