Quiltingranny, a retired 911 dispatcher and trainer, heads up a charity called Layers of Hope – Quilting 911. Its mission is to make quilts for the first responders (firefighters for example) in a community which has sustained a tragedy or natural disaster.
Her latest efforts are directed towards those involved in the life-taking mudslide in Oso, Washington state. Go HERE to see how you can help out a fellow quilter comfort those who do so much for us during these times.

I was wondering about this! becuase everything I keep hearing on the local radio is saying they are overwhelmed with donations and don’t have anywhere to keep it! but I couldn’t believe that they were turning away donations. I’ll check out her site!
