I’ve only seen Joan Lintault’s art quilts in books, and even then I’m awestruck. So, if you happen to be in Vermont or can visit this fall don’t miss Joan Lintault’s exhibit at the Shelburne Museum. Besides the artist’s work, this exhibit includes quilts Joan has collected over the years, quilts that influenced her work. Runs through October 30, 2011.

People should be aware that many roads in Vermont are washed out and some towns are still isolated, except for emergency vehicles. If you’re planning to see this exhibit in the near future you should call ahead to check to see if the route you intend to take is safe and passable.
