Jo at Major Thoughts got to see a preview copy of Why Quilts Matter: History, Art & Politics – a nine-part documentary series on PBS this fall. She had this to say,
I was especially pleased that Why Quilts Matter dove in and covered the dark side of the ugly politics between and about quilters – such hot button issues. Even if you do not quilt, the art vs. craft themes, how often the work of women is dismissed as unimportant or simply domestic duty. studio quilts vs. traditional bed quilts – it’s all there.

I am watching the series as I write this! Wonderful: I want to start the 3 quilts that I have to have done by June (my triplet grandkids are graduating from high school). That will make 10 of the 12 grandkids w/ quilts as hs graduation gifts……after these 3 I only have 2 more to go! Inspiring, enlightening and so oooo much information!!!
