This vibrant child’s quilt looks like a floor puzzle. To piece a top like this may seem difficult, but it’s not, according to the maker, Polly, of Pieces by Polly. She explains her secret was to sew squares, then applique the puzzle knobbies (a word she coined). As a first-time user of cuddly fabric, also known as Minky, she shares what she learned from the experience. Her project is part of The Great Cuddle Cake Challenge, sponsored by Shannon Fabrics and Fairfield. They asked participants to make something unique and inspirational. Polly managed to do both.
