Cathy, of Gefilte Quilt, explores her feelings over precuts, starting with a concise definition of the term. She explains,
Precuts are neat stacks of fabric squares, rectangles, strips, triangles, and/or hexagons that range from an inch to a yard across.
She wonders if precuts are worth the extra money they cost. She notes the way marketers name precuts after desirable, treat-like foods. In psychology, the term for this is affective conditioning. You can read more about that here. But I digress.
As much experiment as tutorial, Cathy cuts fabric into rolls, wishes for a different cutting blade, and continues to a pretty finish.

This was a fun post! I have been cutting my scrap fabrics into various sized squares and strips for several years now and love it. I do not do any fancy packaging; they are just placed in clear totes and used often. I am currently making a Disappearing 4 patch quilt for Project Linus using 6 inch scrap squares. Thank You for sharing this information and post link; it was fun to read and will make a fun discussion with my quilting friends today! Have a fantastic creative day!
