The most desirable fiber content for quilting fabric is 100% cotton. Traditionally, cotton fabric is less expensive than sewing and decorating fabrics. But when I read quilt historian Barbara Brackman’s Material Culture’s blog post Uh-Oh! I wonder if this might change. Be sure and check out all the photos and comments. There are some good ones, one with a reference to the movie Gone With the Wind. I have to say, we quilters may already qualify as hoarders, so it’s business as usual.
