‘Last minute’ is not usually seen in the same sentence as quilt making. But Julianna of Sewing under Rainbow is showing us otherwise by hosting a Last Minute Christmas Sampler QAL (Quilt Along). The first downloadable pattern is already published, go to Christmas Trees. In all you’ll get 12 free block patterns. She shares how she came up with the designs for her blocks.

All blocks were inspired by Christmas traditions coming from different countries, including Scandinavian icons (Dala Horse), German (Nutcracker) and of course Polish (Nativity Scene). Some of the blocks include icons which are more universal (like Christmas candles).
