Project Linus Says ‘Be A Blanketeer!’

August 13, 2007 by Joan Hawley

Project Linus is a wonderful organization that has donated more than 2 million quilts to children in need. That’s a lot of blankies!

Project Linus:
It is our mission to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade blankets and afghans, lovingly created by volunteer “blanketeers.”

What can you do? Make a quilt and donate it to your local chapter. Have some extra fabric taking up room in your stash? Make a donation of quilting supplies for other Blanketeers to work with.

Project Linus is just one of the many charitable organizations that helps people through crafting.

Find out more about being a Blanketeer for Project Linus at their website here.
