An old-fashioned saw-tooth star is enclosed, creating a modern version of a traditional block. It’s a simple piecing pattern that can be used by any intermediate sewer with some experience. The Ophelia quilt will make a great addition to any home!
In 1884, Farm & Fireside published a pattern featuring this block, which became known as the Sawtooth Star. Even after that year, the Sawtooth Star was known by various names, including the Evening Star, Variable Star, Square and Points (very creative), North Star, and so on.
