It warms me to get confirmation of just how generous the crafting community is when it comes to donating time, talent and money to worthy causes. I heard from Virginia A. Spiegel recently, who blogs here, that a group she supports, Fiberart for a Cause, has already raised $220,000 for cancer research.
Well, this group is at it again (no rest for the weary) with plans for their next fundraiser, A Year of Art, happening Feb 12 and 13, 2013. So, mark your calendars! A very talented list of fiber artists will offer up for bid their unique piece of work with all proceeds from the sale going to the American Cancer Society.
You’ll recognize many of the fiber artists, as they are repeat contributors and/or superstars in the craft world. To entice folks to participate in the auction, they are hosting an Inspiration Month this December where any bidder (winning or not) can win some crafty goodness (books and magazines, etc.,.).
Go HERE to pick out your fave artist plus get the scoop on all the great prizes.
