Missouri Star presents “Triple Play,” a monthly tradition where Jenny, Misty, and Natalie showcase their creative interpretations of a chosen block, technique, or template. In this episode, they introduce three fresh projects featuring the Pinwheel block:
Jenny’s Patchwork Pinwheels: Utilizing jelly roll strip sets in Strawberry Lemonade fabric by Sherri & Chelsi for Moda Fabrics, Jenny creates charming Pinwheels dancing across simple 9-patches.
Misty’s Pinwheel Promise: Misty crafts a queen-size quilt using precut 10-inch layer cake squares from Brilliant Blue Batik by Kathy Engle for Island Batik. She efficiently makes half-square triangles 16-at-a-time and trims each one with the Clearly Perfect Slotted Trimmers A and B.
Natalie’s Drunkard’s Path Pinwheels: Natalie’s design focuses on color and curves, featuring 5″ charm squares from Prisma Dyes Cotton Candy by Lunn Studios for Robert Kaufman. Using the Drunkard’s Patch template, she creates delightful Pinwheels with leftover pieces forming a scalloped border.
