Foundation Paper Pieced Mini Pineapple Quilt Block Tutorial

March 6, by Claudia Porter. Leave a Comment

Are you ready to try some mini foundation paper piecing?  This tutorial from The Little Mushroom Cap can help you out.

Perfect for small scraps, test out your sewing skills with this technique.  The blog post takes you through the steps and you can download the pineapple pattern.

If you follow my articles here you know that I love a good scrap fabric project and this is definitely that.  I will say that this is probably not for a beginner, however if you have some quilting or sewing knowledge, you can take your time and you will be able to to do.

The pineapple quilt block is a traditional one and this mini pattern is a great way to show it off.

Video Tutorial – Easy Charm Pack Quilt

Here’s what you can do with your spare Jelly Roll strips and stash: construct a gorgeous quilt! Kimberly made her Jelly Roll Scrap Quilt with 13 additional Jelly Roll strips left over from another quilt, as well as extra background.  Check out her starching skills, you can also DIY and make your own spray starch for quilting.

1. Mix 1 1/2 tbsp cornstarch with 2 cups of distilled water until all lumps are dissolved.
2.  Fill a glass spray bottle.

Enjoy a brief quilting time lapse of Kimberly constructing the quilt after watching a basic block instruction with additional Jelly Roll strips!
