Teri Power of Morning Earth created a learning activity in honor of Earth Day, April 22. She had her students create a virtual quilt out of natural materials like sand, grass, gravel, charred wood, soil, oak leaves, cattails, etc. Material is put into containers. Containers = Blocks.
In explaining this project she said,
“A quilt is more than a blanket. A quilt is evidence of community.”

Thank you for visiting my post at Blisstree about Teri Power and the unique “earth” quilt she created. She certainly opens our minds to the great possibilities when we take quilting to another level.
