Part of what makes these placemats from The Crafty Quilter so charming is the fabric she uses. Even if you don’t have the same fabrics, you can still make them and they will look lovely.
Placemats are a terrific and easy way to change up the look of a room. You’ll definitely know that Christmas is on the way when you make these. Made with the designer’s pinwheel star block, she provides instructions to make six placemats. There are even instructions to turn this beautiful block into a table runner.
Done in red and white, the pinwheel in the center of the block reminds me of Christmas candy. It adds a nice pop to the center of the large sawtooth star design. The design touch I really like on the placemats is the thin accent strip of fabric that she has added. If you have never done one, don’t worry, she provides a link to her tutorial showing you how to make that thin strip.
If you are looking to spruce up your Christmas décor, why not give these pretty placemats or table runner a try. They would make a great gift to yourself, or for anyone else too.
