I’m intrigued by the technique described in this book, Give and Take Fabric Applique by Canadian authors Daphne Greig and Susan Purney Mark. They say this about it,

A two-for-one technique that makes tricky shapes super easy to appliqué. …This machine technique is perfect for guild swaps and challenges, is fat quarter friendly, and can be adapted beyond the 12 projects in the book to numerous other patterns.

Definitely worth a look, this book. Also Daphne is a hoot. She describes her life before she found quilting as “BQ” – Before Quilting. Funny.
