Looking for a big, bold, and beautiful baby quilt design? This free star block from Diary of a Quilter might be just right for you. In fact, there are two different star tutorials in this article. You can’t beat that!
Both designs are scrappy and because of the large stars, they really pack a punch. The quilt pictured measures about 39″ square when done. The other one measures about 40″ square.
Various squares of scraps are required for either quilt, and both of them need about 1 1/4 yards of backing fabric. Other than that, you only need standard quilting tools. The article has a detailed supply list and fabric requirements.
Easy quilts like this are always fun to make. They are also quick and make lovely gifts for friends and family. These two designs are also terrific scrap busters, so if you have a lot of scraps and other supplies, you don’t even have to go shopping for more fabric.
