8 Snail’s Trail Quilt Patterns

June 19, 2021 by Claudia Porter

Snail’s Trail, now that’s a quilt pattern that always catches my eye. It’s one of those patterns that look deceptively complex, but are actually quite easy to make. If you’re a fan of circular designs and want to create a quilt with a unique look, then Snail’s Trail is the perfect choice for you.

And let me tell you, the possibilities are endless with this versatile quilt block. From traditional quilts to modern designs, Snail’s Trail can be used in a variety of ways to create a stunning quilt. And that’s why I’m so excited to share these eight different quilt patterns that incorporate the Snail’s Trail block.

These patterns are all available on Etsy, and they’re created by some of the most talented quilters in the world. From simple designs that are perfect for beginners to more advanced patterns that will challenge even the most experienced quilters, there’s something for everyone. And with so many different designs to choose from, you’re sure to find one that speaks to you.

Whether you’re looking for a quilt that’s perfect for snuggling up on a chilly day, or a quilt that will brighten up any room, these Snail’s Trail patterns are sure to deliver. And the best part is, by purchasing these patterns on Etsy, you’ll be supporting small business owners and independent artists, which is always a win in my book.

Snailed from Quiltin’Tia is an easy and fun pattern.

This pattern designed by Fontana Originals is a little bit Snail’s Trail and a little bit Storm at Sea and is called Snailstorm.

The Snail’s Trail quilt pattern is a traditional quilt pattern that has been around for many years. The exact origin of the pattern is not well documented, but it is believed to have originated in the United States.

The Snail’s Trail pattern is characterized by its circular shape and spiraling design, which resembles the trail left by a snail. The pattern is made up of small curved pieces of fabric sewn together to create a continuous spiral. This quilt block is often used as a filler block in larger quilts, or it can be used on its own to create a smaller quilt.

Over the years, the Snail’s Trail pattern has evolved and many variations have emerged. Some quilters add a border around the block, while others use the Snail’s Trail block as the starting point for more complex quilt designs. The Snail’s Trail block is also often used as a foundation for applique designs, where fabric shapes are sewn onto the block to create an image.

Despite its traditional roots, the Snail’s Trail pattern remains popular among quilters today. Many quilters enjoy the challenge of working with curved pieces of fabric, and the pattern is versatile enough to be used in both traditional and modern quilts. Whether used as a filler block or as the centerpiece of a quilt, the Snail’s Trail pattern is sure to add a unique and eye-catching touch to any quilting project.
