Here are my best tips to help you master paper piecing:

Choose the right paper: Not all paper is created equal, so make sure you choose the right type of paper for your project. Tissue paper is a popular choice because it’s lightweight and easy to handle, but it can also tear easily. Instead, I recommend using heavier paper like printer paper or template paper, which is specifically designed for paper piecing.

Plan your fabric pieces: Before you start piecing, make sure you have a clear plan for how your fabric pieces will fit together. This will help you to avoid making any mistakes and ensure that your final result is accurate.

Make sure your fabric is trimmed accurately: This is especially important for smaller pieces, as even a small discrepancy in size can make a big difference in the overall look of your finished project.

Start with the smallest pieces first: This will help you to build your design from the inside out, which is a more straightforward approach.

Use a glue stick: This will help keep your fabric pieces in place and prevent them from shifting as you work.

Press each seam open: This will help to reduce bulk in your project and ensure that your seams lie flat.

Take your time: Paper piecing is a methodical and precise process, so don’t be in a hurry to rush through it. Take your time and enjoy the process, and you’ll get great results!
