Rowan’s rag coat + free printable

If you give a grandson scraps, what does he do? Mine, 5 yr old Rowan, made this rag coat. There are bits from many of my former projects here – pinks from a baby quilt, a selvage from a zipper purse, and a rocket ship from pj’s. I appreciate he didn’t worry about getting the pieces perfectly flat. It gives it dimension.

His mamma had just read him the classic book by Lauren Mills, The Rag Coat. It’s part of the FIAR curriculum she is using for school. She found this free rag coat printable at the Pumpkin Patch.
