I’m taking issue with the use of the word ‘modern’ in today’s quilting world. I’m not alone. Mrs. Sew McCool recently wrote Four Reasons to Banish “Modern” from Sewing Vocabulary. If you only have time to read one blog post today, this one is it.
If you want to see some examples of 20th century quilts that look like they could be made today, you owe it to yourself to visit Historically Modern. A site curated by quilt historian, Barbara Brackman, she devotes an entire blog to this type of quilt.
