This model shows it’s hip to be square in this pretty patchwork skirt. Vintage-focused maker, Alyssa, of Lost in Paris, shares her inspiration for the project.
This skirt is based on the classic 1970’s wrap skirts I remember my mother wearing when I was very young.
Sweet. To make it, she pieces together 8″ x 8″ fabric squares into a sizable rectangle (51″ x 98″ ). From that, she marks the waist and hemlines, and then cuts out the basic shape. She adds a lining and ties, then sews some seams. It’s a wrap.
