I love creating traditional quilts with a modern update!
I’ve long been an admirer of Kaffe’s masterly use of colour but have somehow omitted to add any of his books to my collection so I’d love to win this!
drooling in color over this book!
LOL
I have a special needs daughter(21) my current quilt project is a new quilt for her bed. She asked me as we were buying our new home can her next room be a “Paris”room.. not knowing fully what she meant, off to the lfs we went.. I let her pull all the colors and patterns she wanted in her “Paris” quilt.. She picked an amazing palate of teal, brown, soft pinks and green.. polka dots and butterflies that all seem to”work” Im doing paper piecing style and she picks out the particular block as we go along.I seperated the tones and she picks the dark, mediums and lights.. I do the hard work of sewing and she shows off my work lol..Family has supplied her with numerous Eiffel tower sculptures, prints of Paris and numerous Parisian curios(including a sweet wrought iron dress form!)Her former “Barbie” colored quilt and shams are being shipped off to her favorite neice… that too she picked every fabric and color!
Just wanted to share how anyone can enjoy the love of fabric, coloring and quilting!

Hey, thanks for siting Waiting for the Muse as a favorite blog! I am a diehard fan of Kaffe and Liza too! The photography in this newest effort is amazing- the gorgeous quilts all look like they have sprung complete from their settings- such beautiful attention to detail by the designers, the quilters, and the photographers. It’s wonderful when something all works together this way. So, if I don’t win the book (?), I hope one of you do who appreciate it as much! Sandy

I love his work! I currently own only one of his books, and it’s just knitting patterns, but I still love it, especially because some of the patterns with very careful planning can be turned into quilt designs! I was at the library yesterday checking out books and I kind of regret not grabbing the two books of his that were on the shelf to grab some inspiration from!
