drooling in color over this book!

    LOL

I have a special needs daughter(21) my current quilt project is a new quilt for her bed. She asked me as we were buying our new home can her next room be a “Paris”room.. not knowing fully what she meant, off to the lfs we went.. I let her pull all the colors and patterns she wanted in her “Paris” quilt.. She picked an amazing palate of teal, brown, soft pinks and green.. polka dots and butterflies that all seem to”work” Im doing paper piecing style and she picks out the particular block as we go along.I seperated the tones and she picks the dark, mediums and lights.. I do the hard work of sewing and she shows off my work lol..Family has supplied her with numerous Eiffel tower sculptures, prints of Paris and numerous Parisian curios(including a sweet wrought iron dress form!)Her former “Barbie” colored quilt and shams are being shipped off to her favorite neice… that too she picked every fabric and color!
Just wanted to share how anyone can enjoy the love of fabric, coloring and quilting!

More blogs to add to the list, i love them. I would like to say some mentioned are already favorites. But would also like to add spirit cloth – totally inspirational notions, from a simiplistic creative mind.

I will have to stop by here again…..
    Thanks

What a great blog list…. there are many there that I enjoy. My favorite is Be*mused. We DO like the same things. I would love to win the give away for Kaffe’s new book. I got to take a workshop from him & Brandon last year, it was amazing!

I am always searching for new blogs that I have yet to discover and this is a great list, some new-to-me and some old friends. Thank you for the give away, they are always fun!

I would love to win this book. I am always awed by the colors and fabrics used in their projects.

I have a Kaffe knitted jacket (stars) my mom made me when I was a teenager. I’d love to try to make a quilt. Beautiful!

I love the suggested blogs and am adding them to my reader – which now has in excess of 250 – but no matter, I have an excuse to stop working and breathe every once in awhile. I’d love the book, I’m so inspired by them!

    Looks like a great book!

I would love to win my first Kaffe quilting book. I’ve adored his sense of colour and design since I started doing his tapestries in the 80′s. Now I’m an addicted quilter! I have many of those great Aussie blogs in my favourites already!

I have most of these sites bookmarked, so glad to add a few more to my “Must Read” sites. Love what is going on with blogs and the quilt world.

I have a most amazing (if I do say so myself!) Kaffe stash and just about all of his quilting books. I am working on Broken Dishes out of one of his books, and hope to make several more!

  143. Gizala on June 7, 2010 10:08 am

I love his work. I really really like how he is not afraid of color.

  144. Marcia W. on June 7, 2010 10:17 am

When I need a color splash, I think Kaffe’s fabrics and quilts.
