The book: Some collaborations produce magic. This one by Fat Quarterly e-magazine founders and Lark Crafts is just such a thing. Their recently released book, Shape Workshop for Quilters: 60 Blocks + a Dozen Quilts and Projects, is a must-have for any quilter’s library, no matter the skill level or style orientation.

Here’s the premise. Authors Katy Jones, Brioni Greenberg, Tacha Bruecher, and John Q. Adams explore six basic shapes that serve as the building blocks to any block-based quilt or project. They include instructions for 60 quilt blocks, that’s a lot. I love this book, it’s a keeper.

Here’s a peek at Dream Garden Diamonds Quilt, a project by John Q of Quilt Dad. Sweet hummingbirds!

The giveaway: I received a review copy from Lark Crafts, yay! The editor on this project, Amanda Carestio, is providing me with a copy to give away to a Craft Gossip reader.

How to enter: Anyone is eligible to enter, but in honor of Father’s Day, fathers who enter this contest will get an extra entry. Just leave a comment right behind your first one and say something like “I’m a father of two.”

Contest ends Tuesday, June 19, 2012. Good luck!
