What I like most about modern quilts is the clean lines and the beautiful fabrics. I also find it interesting that some of the patterns are actually very traditional but they look so fresh when done in a modern pallette.
I love modern quilts for their bright colors and new way of pairing colors and textures, but there is so much charm and love in the old ones that I can’t resist them. Nothing like curling up under an old quilt and feeling the love that was put into the hand piecing and quilting so many years ago. Of course one day, someone will do the same with our modern ones! It’s a great circle! =)

What I like most about modern quilts are that there are often used plain fabrics in various colors, what in my opinion makes the structure of the pattern or the quilting much more important and visual.
I like the creativity and openness about modern quilts.
Like bright colours creating something modern using traditional pattens and methods that have stood the test of time and will again.
What I like most is the clean lines and bold colors. Thanks for the giveaway!
I love the look of simplicity in modern quilts and how they showcase the fabrics. It’s all about the fabric….
the clean lines and contemporary look is what I like the most about modern quilts
I like the simple shapes that really highlight the fabrics.
Love the modern quilts, they are bright and adventurous:) I am just learning to quilt and would love this book!
The thing that I like most about modern quilts is how clean they seem. I feel sometimes that traditional quilts can feel so busy or cluttered, but modern ones almost always have a great balance.
I like the part about color theory and the color palette helps. I also like the fact that there are easy as well as challenging quilt patterns. It looks like a great book. Thanks for the chance to win!
As a newcomer to modern quilts, I really love the color and free-form structures. I’ve been quilting for many years and really appreciate the traditional quilts. The dense and intricate quilting is fascinating but I find that it stops me from completing a quilt. The modern quilt encourages a less dense style that allows the color and forms to come through.
The use of extraordinary color combinations.
I like the colors in modern quilts!
I love the color blocking and inventive ways of quilting! And all that white fabric!
I love the clean, uncluttered look of contemporary quilts.
I love watching the evolution of the quilting art. I think that it will pull in younger artists and inspire those already addicted to this medium.
I love modern quilts. I have never made one, but am going to try soon. Thanks for the chance to win.
I love the colors and intricate patterns. At 22, I have just started getting interested in quilting. I used to think that it was an activity for grandmothers, but I have really been loving the great expression people are able to achieve with quilting.
I love how modern quilts update and add to the rich history of quilting, enriching this time-honored tradition with new sparks of creativity.
Simple and colorful. So easy on the eye!
I like to see the patterns that are created that are new and different. Some have a sleek feel to them. The coziness of a quilt but with an updated feel.
I love the blend of old and new. I love quilts, but the patchwork look doesn’t suit my decorating taste. More modern quilts definitely do!
I like that modern quilts inspire younger quilters to take a second (or first) look at traditional handcrafts. Not only can quilting teach valuable life skills, but its an art with a practical end–you can have interactive contact with your creation every day!
I love modern minimalist quilts. I feel like there is much more creative freedom in modern quilting. I appreciate the beauty of traditional quilts, but the look of a fresh inventive modern quilt is more my style.
I LOVE this book! I LOVE this blog tour as well. I’ve now found 2 new sites that I didn’t know about before. Thanks so much!
I like that they are not “FUSSY”… nice and simplistic
I like the colour use in modern quilts as well as the sometimes unexpected little details that take a simple pattern to the “wow” level.
I like the simplicity, more frequent use of all solids, and simple geometric shapes.
I love the creativity in making the blocks and the modern beauty of how solids are used. The quilts look so inviting and comfortable.
I love the simplicity, but yet very colorful look! I especially love the cover quilt colors & style!
While I love traditional and contemporary quilts, I love that the “modern” trend has spawned a new era of quilters.
I love the availability of modern fabrics for modern quilts. I also like the freeform quilts.
I like that they look like something you would find at your grandmas house, yet updated.
I love the clean lines and harmonious colors of the cover page quilt!
I love the clean lines and the bright vibrant colours of modern quilts. I also love the visual play of transparent overlapping shapes with the use of colour. So many quilts, so little time!
What I love most about modern quilts is their simplicity! Every fabric must be selected with great care in order for them to work!
Most – negative space.
Least – unispired, ill-fitting and poorly executed quilting.
I love the fresh designs that modern quilts have. It’s fun to try all the new techniques as well! =) Thanks for the giveaway.
i appreciate the color variations shown with each design. I can’t say enough good things about this book…
I like the fabrics and the bright colors.
I love “modern quilts” because that term can mean just about anything, so saying I make “modern quilts” gives me total creative freedom. What I love about Weeks Ringle and Bill Kerr’s interpretation of “modern quilts” is their intelligent exploration of color theory. Like color field painters, they take the opportunity formal simplicity provides to explore the complexities of color qua color.
I love the fact that my neices and nephews actually use the quilt I make using these designs.
Ideas must move forward. I am always amazed at the new inventions of old things. Each person can then use the inspiration in their own way spawning yet more ideas.
Thanks for the chance. I love anything by this pair!
I like that the names of their quilts always fit the quilt.
What I love most about modern quilts, is the simple designs and bright, bold colors.
What I love about antique quilts is the history behind it. All the love and stories that were told while making it. I have my grandma’s quilt from Italy with a date of 1917 on it. I love it.
I like the new color combos best.

I love the clean lines of modern quilts as well as the “yumminess” of the fabrics
I really like how modern quilts have a “freeing” nature about them.
I love the color combos and the solids in the Modern quilts, thanks for the opportunity to win what looks to be a fabulous book!!
I love that there are no real “rules” for modern quilting. As a newbie, I am learning as I go, so traditional (“old school”) shapes and patterns can be daunting at times. Modern quilts rock!
I love the colours of modern quilts the more vibrant the better
I love the clean lines of modern quilting that really allow the fabric to dazzle. I love that modern quilting unclutters some of the fussy busy-ness out of quilts yet still providing a lot of dynamic visuals.
i like the crispness of modern quilts! I adore the classic vintage but there is something that always makes me think of feng shui when i see a clean modern quilt!
It seems like many modern quilt designs allow the fabric prints to be showcased more. I really like that aspect since my favorite thing about the quilt is usually the fabric!
I love how vibrant and fresh modern quilts look. Don’t get me wrong, traditional quilts are beautiful and classic, and modern quilts are attractive to the younger AND older generations. I just love them all!
I love that modern quilts have clean lines and shapes that let the color in the quilt show through. I am drawn to color more than form in quilting and so designs that let me really see the fabrics are great.
I love the use of color in the modern quilts. My style has never been “country” so the modern quilts fit my style of decorating.
I love modern quilts for the boldness and outside-the-box designs and color combos.
As all my modern quilting friends know, I am a traditional quilter through and through. But I am also open to variation and that is where modern quilting comes in. Although my home now is on a country decor scale, my next home will be a mixture of the modern and traditional. I like the sharpness of the modern quilts, the new fabrics actually make a traditional quilt look like an entirely different pattern. Traditional quilts are my heart beat, they are soft, the fabrics were so soft and almost fuzzy around the edges, and still my preference for my hours and hours of work.
I love the bold prints of modern fabrics and the sleek designs of modern quilts. While I’m typically a “soft, floral” person, the brights and bolds draw me to them and the styles are so appealing to my eyes. I think I mostly like that many modern quilts are easier for a beginner to learn than cutting a gazillion triangles!
I like the boldness and use of solids. Thanks for the chance!
Quilting is a craft that is to be taught and embellished and improved upon by each generation. With the bright colors and textured fabrics available today the morph into the modern , more sophisticated design is to be expected….while i love my grammas patchwork quilt made from pieces of all our old “easter dresses” she made for my sisters and I my eye is continually drawn to the newer styles for boldness…..love it.
We live in Florida part of the year. Modern quilts fit better with the subtropical lifestyle and climate there. Designs neet to be refreshing in the heat and humidity.
I love the vibrant colors and choice of fabrics.
I like the freshness of the quilts. Colors are well put together, lines are simple. Very eye appealing quilts.
What I like about Modern Quilts is the room for liberties to be taken with traditional techniques and design.
I absolutely LOVE the clear picture of color and thought that comes thru the new quilts of today. THey are expressive and brilliant – heart warming!
What I love most about ‘Modern’ quilts is color, color and color. And did I mention color?
Modern quilts are clean and fresh and showcase bolder modern print fabrics!
I love modern quilts because they don’t have to follow traditional rules. Yes, there are basics that every quilter has to do, but I don’t feel like I’m going to get kicked out of a guild for doing things a different way!
Pairing the multiple colors with white is my favorite part.
i love how modern quilts are very bright and bold. they have very square shapes and I love the style. Maybe what i don’t like is that sometimes they can be too geometrical, but sometimes it is goood!
-thanks so much for the chance in winning!
yay!!!
I love the fresh, beautiful fabrics of modern quilts! The colors and textures are bright and invigorating, yet comfortable and soothing, as well. Love the looks of this book – it is right up my creative alley!
I love the bright colours, vibrant lines, beautiful color combos and the different shapes.
I love the bight and happy colors. Miss the traditional homey look would be the downside!
thanks!
I love modern quilts for the beautiful fabrics!

I’m always looking for new ideas for quilting. With the new larger patterns available – this looks like a great book to try out. Thanks!
Though I do appreciate some traditional quilt patterns I really like the clean lines a modern quilt can bring. Both traditional and modern have their place…I like to find myself nestled in between them
I love that quilting was the pastime of my great-grandmother and it is also my pastime. Modern quilts showed me new updated color schemes and up to date patterns….
Ilike the geometric shapes and the bright colors.
I love the uncluttered and clean lines of the cover quilt. As a newbie quilter I would love to win this. Good luck to everyone!
I love the clean graphic look of these modern quilts. Weeks and Bill are a talented pair.
I too love the clean lines and fresh designs, thanks for the chance to win
I saw this =book in person and loved it. I hope I win.
I love the fresh spirit of modern quilts. Taking something old and making it new.
I like the uncluttered look of modern quilts. They also make good use of color. It is a look that appeals to me very much.
It seems that many of the more modern quilts are a simpler pattern of piecing but the colors take center stage. Maybe this is because of the much broader selection of fabrics offered now as compared to long ago. I love the colors!
Love the clean lines, plain fabrics, bold designs. Yes, please!
I love the modern quilts because of the use of color and bolder shapes!
Thanks
The modern day quilts are are great I love the colours and the patterns. My Grandmother use to make them, but the modern ones are so much better, (it’s lucky she is no longer with us, she would really tell me off).
I love the whimsy and personality that shows though in so many modern quilts.
I love the simple clean lines of modern quilts. The more traditional variety tend to be a bit busy for my taste.
I really like the bold use of color in modern quilting. The colors make the nice lines really stand out. Thanks for the chane to win!
I love the colors and block designs of the modern day quilts. Very fresh and upbeat!
What I like most about modern quilts is the energy and freshness they bring to quilting.
I love the simplicity of modern quilts…color takes the forefront.
I love the fresh take on traditional shapes. They have such a wonderful way of retelling a pattern.
I love that they fit into my more modern home with the clean lines and bright colors. I am working on one of my own now, with batiks.
What I love most about modern quilts is they are accessible to everyone. As complicated as they might be, a lot of novice quilters can see themselves making one. I am a beginner quilter, and though I know there is still a lot of technique in modern quilts, a lot of them look like I could make them. I LOVE that!!
There’s absolutely nothing about modern quilts that I don’t like! I love the simple, clean lines, the freshness & the bright, happy colors of modern quilts.
Modern quilts are easy to make and just look modern.
Seu livro com certeza é lindo, gostaria de ganha-lo, para começar a fazer quilt. Abraços
Like: geometrical designs look good with the new “modern” fabric designs and colors
Dislike: some of the quilts have no real design – too simple – need some detail to capture the eye and keep the interest moving
That said, would like to win this book so can make my first “modern” quilt using the book as guidance.
I like the color combinations, their simplicity and how they would work with any home decor
clean, crisp, bright, bold colors and abstract designs are what captures my imagination in modern quilts
What I like most would be the bright exciting colors and also the fact that they’re easier to make than intricate patterns.
what i like most about modern quilting is that it’s fun to do!
I love the beautiful bright colors and lots of crisp lines. I think they appeal to many people.
I started out as a VERY traditional quilter, but after more exposure to different styles, I am now experimenting with more modern quilts. I think this book would give me lots of new ideas. Thanks for the chance to win!
I love the bright colors in modern quilts.
Lovely clean lines and a chance to let the fabrics really speak.
Thx for the chance to win.
What I like about modern quilts is that they focus on precision in design and palette but not perfection through arbitrary rules. Modern quilting encourages freedom and experimentation and I love that.
Modern quilts are so refreshing with a light background and crisp geometric focal points.
