I had visited there once and had admired the 1800s building that housed the shop.</p>
<p>I stopped the car and snapped some photos. Check out the beautiful wooden doors. Next I walked to the side of the shop where someone had painted a couple of quilts. </p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-3486" src="http://quilting.craftgossip.com/files/2009/09/Front-door-Fabric-shop-Greenwood-sept-09-225x300.jpg" alt="Front door Fabric shop Greenwood sept 09" width="135" height="180" />  <img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-3487" src="http://quilting.craftgossip.com/files/2009/09/Painted-old-quilt-shop-Greenwood-sept-09-300x224.jpg" alt="Painted old quilt shop Greenwood sept 09" width="210" height="157" /></p>
<p>Here&#8217;s a closeup of the Attic Window painted quilt.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-3489" src="http://quilting.craftgossip.com/files/2009/09/Closeup-painted-quilt-old-quilt-shop_attic-window1-300x224.jpg" alt="Closeup painted quilt old quilt shop_attic window" width="289" height="193" /></p>
<p>If you will send me photos of small quilt and fabric shops that have recently closed in your area with a description, I will do a series on this subject. How do you feel when a quilt shop leaves your area?</p>

<p>Do you ever wonder if everything you&#8217;ve been taught about quilting is accurate? For example: what about the fabled Amish practice of purposely putting a mistake in every quilt (to show humility since only God is perfect)? According to <a href="http://www.womenfolk.com/">Womenfolk</a>, this turns out to be myth #8 of 11 they cover in their article Facts vs. Myths About America&#8217;s Quilting Past written by Judy Anne Breneman. Go <a href="http://www.womenfolk.com/historyofquilts/quiltmyth.htm">here to see all eleven myths</a>.</p>
